Latah County Library District: 7 Branch Libraries
Did you know that the Latah County Library District has SEVEN branch libraries? HK Creative works as the library's in-house Marketing Coordinator.

One of the highlights of working for LCLD in 2021 was our rebranding and the launch of our new website. Check it out below.

Built in 1906, the main branch of the library district is a historic Carnegie library with distinctive arched windows in the original wing. We referenced this in the rebranding, using the shape of the window to form an arc of seven books. Each library branch is represented by a different color. The many colors also represent the library as a community hub, inclusive to all patrons, with a diverse offering of materials.
The rebranding informed the redesign of LCLD's website through color and clean design.
The new look extended to our email newsletter as well.
Other fun projects designed with the Latah County Library include a reading program to jumpstart early literacy, our own version of 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. The design includes a flier, a reading log, reward stickers, and tote bags.
This holiday card was sent out in 2020. The illustrated buildings (sans snow) have appeared in other designs for LCLD, most notably on the homepage of the new website, as seen above.
The pandemic forced our programming staff to become creative. The Adult Services Manager and the Children's Services Manager created a fake podcast, presented through video on Facebook Live, to discuss true crime and fictional mysteries with like-minded patrons. The portraits were drawn on an iPad Pro using Procreate. You can see the library district's old logo at the bottom of this flier.
September is National Library Card Sign-up Month. This graphic was created to remind patrons what they need to sign up for their card!
